We bring the food and our recipient sites set up their own no-cost grocery markets.

NO COST GROCERY PROGRAM

Recipients & Participatory Models

The food gets delivered to recipient sites we partner with and is typically used within 24-48 hours. We provide food to low-income residential sites and nonprofits, including day shelters, transitional housing, food pantries, and community hubs that provide a range of services to people experiencing homelessness, recovering from addiction, or receiving mental health care.  Most importantly, we collaborate with individuals who struggle with food insecurity themselves.

A Sustainable & Community-Driven Approach

We work with community leaders at low-income senior housing sites, individual and family housing sites, as well as after-school programs and preschools. This participatory approach enables community leaders to really be at the forefront of actualizing their own food security. Site leaders run what we call “Grocery Programs” to set up food-pantry type distributions in their own community rooms. They are in charge of how, when, and where, and we support them on the back end by providing resources and building strong relationships so their community members have the most say in how their programs run.
